General Conditions of Participation and Terms of Business

(English translation is provided for information purposes only, the German version is legally binding.)

• With my registration I accept the terms for participation and the non-liability of the organiser for damages of all kinds. I will not make any claims against the organisers, the sponsors or their agents for any damages or injuries resulting from my participation. I declare that I have sufficiently trained for taking part in Rhine on Skates and that I am physically healthy. The medical personnel is entitled to remove me from the event should I show signs of damaging my health. I will follow instructions out of the police and marshalls. This concerns in particular "sending from the end of the group into the back-up bus" if I cannot maintain the pace of the group (approx. 20 km/h, 13 mph). The back-up bus will bring me at least up to the next town with a train station.
• Fees:
  • Until June 10th: 35 Euro/person (additional processing fee possible, see below (*))
  • June 11th until July 20th: 42 Euro/person (additional processing fee possible, see below (*))
  • July 21st until August 10th: 48 Euro/person (credit card only (Eurocard/Mastercard or Visa), incl. processing fee)
  • 60 Euro/person (cash only) if you register at the start
  (*) In the first registration phases, you can chose between several methods of payment. For each phase, there's one method without processing fee (However this does not cover fees that may be incurred from the your account holding bank!), for other methods, you will pay up to approx. 2 Euro/person additionally. The complete sum will be shown in the payment section of the registration process.
• I agree that the data used in my registration may be used for purposes of the event. I assure the correctness of my details. Once registered I am not entitled to a refund of the participation fee.
• Data protection
  • Notice according to the German Data Protection Act: your data will be automatically stored!
  • Your data will be used by us and our registration partner solely for the purpose of processing your registration and for sending documents and other important information about Rhine-on-Skates.
  • We will not publish any lists of participants nor e.g. pass on your details to advertising partners. The menu options "Participants" and "Results" on raceresult.com are for competitions: We use raceresult.com solely to simplify registration, the menu options "Participants" and "Results" will remain deactivated.
• The participation fee includes (amongst other things) lunch (1 meal and 1 drink) in Koblenz and drinks and snacks in the breaks. Furthermore it covers costs for logistics (transport, fuel and electricity, waste disposal, toilets etc.), emergency services, fees, insurance, advertising, etc.
• Passes for participants will be sent to the registered address or handed out on the day of the event. We will inform you of this via email. Further information about Rhine-on-Skates can be found at www.rhine-on-skates.de .
• A refund of the registration fee is only made in the case of cancellation of the tour by the organiser. If you cannot take part you can give your pass of participation to another person, in such a case you do not need to inform us of this change. A cancellation of the event may take place in case of insufficient registrations or severe weather conditions, etc. (force majeure). This information will be given promptly under www.rhine-on-skates.de and sent to the registered email addresses. The organisers accept no responsibility for costs such as for travel and accommodation.
• Services may only be claimed upon presentation of the participant pass (probably in the form of a bib number that should be attached to clothes or a rucksack)
• Participation is only allowed with inline skates or roller skates. For safety reasons poles (Nordic Skating) are not allowed. It is obligatory to wear a helmet and it is recommended to wear protectors. Consideration of other skaters and the ability to skate and brake is necessary. Endurance training is recommended. Participation is at your own risk!
• Children und teenagers under 18 years can only participate when accompanied by a legal guardian.
• With your participation you consent to be photographed and filmed for the purpose of advertising and promotion of Rhine-on-Skates.
